This is really a misnomer. Cuz every time I read an LRH book it’s my favorite book.
I’ve been studying “the Basics” — the basic books and lectures L. Ron Hubbard wrote and recorded between 1948 and 1956. And I’ve never enjoyed studying anything more.
I remember in high school enrolling in an honors class in philosophy to find out what these wise men knew, and clarify my understanding of life. I was so disappointed. All they were saying was they don’t know.
By the time I read my first LRH book I had the idea there were no answers, and when he’d come out and say “this is how it is” I kept looking for the footnotes or proof. Funny thing about Scientology–Ron just says it like it is. No footnotes because it’s his original work. And the proof of the proverbial pudding is when you take what he says, try it out, and see for yourself if it works.
And it does.
The Basics were released by David Miscavige in 2007, and if that was the only thing Mr. Miscavige had ever done for Scientology, that would have been enough, because Scientology became the only religion at that point whose primary philosophy, as written and recorded by the founder, was now available for posterity.
